When you own a pet, you are entering into a partnership that is going to last years. Think first before you make such a commitment to make sure you are ready! Consider all of the following factors:
Cost: Owning a pet isn’t not cheap. Some reports say that the cost of owning a dog may be as much as $1,300 per year! This is even higher in the first year when you have to buy everything that your dog needs!
Environment: Make sure your environment is right for they pet you are going to be bringing home. For example, if you live in a smaller apartment, you should avoid keeping a large dog! They need room to stretch their legs, room to play and to be active!
Lifestyle: Carefully assess your lifestyle before you commit to owning a pet. Do you have the necessary free time to properly care for your pet? Are you going to out of the house for 12 + hours a day? Do you have a spouse or family members who can help?
